Call for Participation: Investigative Journalism Training and Award Competition

Would you like to become an investigative journalist? Do you think journalism can still play an important role in society?

The “S-INFO – Sustainable Information” project invites you to participate in our investigative journalism training and award competition, co-funded by the European Union.

We are excited to offer a specialized training program for aspiring journalists and media activists focusing on investigative journalism. The sessions will be led by experienced trainers who will combine taught classes with participatory workshops, leveraging participants’ real-world experiences and the professional expertise of the trainers. Multimedia materials will be used to enhance learning, and all prepared materials will be shared with participants.

Our primary goal is to equip journalists and media activists with the necessary skills to conduct investigative reporting. Participants will gain professional skills in accessing direct sources, fact-checking, interview techniques, protection of sources, and digital safety. The training will also cover how to collaborate effectively with grassroots organizations and craft compelling story pitches. Additionally, participants will learn to navigate the obstacles and opportunities encountered in covering topics such as ecology, corruption, and social rights.

Why Participate?

This training provides a unique opportunity to enhance your investigative journalism skills and network with like-minded professionals. Successful participants will gain the skills and knowledge needed to produce impactful investigative reports and the chance to access S-INFO funding, furthering their ability to create meaningful change.

Skills Development

Professional Skills: Participants will develop expertise in investigative reporting, including techniques for accessing direct sources and fact-checking. The training will also cover essential interview techniques, protection of sources, and digital safety. You will learn to collaborate with grassroots organizations and write effective pitch stories.

You will also improve your attention to detail, learning ability, work ethic, and interpersonal and intercultural communication.
