Independent journalism is today a crucial resource for defending European democracy.
However, polarisation, disinformation, attacks of all kinds on press freedom and job insecurity put it at constant risk. The European project S-Info, active in Italy, Belgium, Romania and Malta, launched the campaign No Democracy Without Journalism, which aims to support and protect independent journalists by strengthening the alliance with civil society active in processes of transformation of society.
In preparation for the launch of the Manifesto for Sustainable Journalism on 30 June during the Padua Sherwood Festival, we invite independent journalists, activists and civil society representatives to the online round table on 15 May. It will be an opportunity to discuss common challenges together, share experiences and define new strategies for free and responsible information.
